The LMCLP delivers a year of community leadership development including:
• dynamic learning activities to challenge participant’s critical thinking and mindsets.
• interactive workshops to refine and develop adaptive leadership skills to help tackle complex challenges.
• Inspiring and influential facilitators, speakers and presenters
Participants will be immersed in community leadership workshops and facilitated exploration of:
• New ideas, perspectives and thinking
• New approaches and concepts to leadership
• Reflective practice and journaling
The 2025 program will run from March to November consisting of face-to-face program days, residential retreats, and online program sessions (generally kept to 2 hours per session). The program features diverse subject matter experts, guest speakers, LMCLP graduates and government representatives, with the aim of developing a rich leadership story and context focusing on positive change for our region.
This is a diverse regional program covering 10 local government areas, many of which are visited throughout the program.
You must be a resident of one of the 10 local shire areas in the Loddon Murray region to be eligible for the program. Travel to areas across our region will be required to attend program days and retreats. LMCLP retreats include overnight stays; shared accommodation and most meals are included in the program cost. Participants requiring single room accommodation will be required to pay for the cost of single accommodation. Additional out of pocket expenses include travel and some meals.
Participant Commitments:
1. Attendance at program days, retreats and Zoom sessions.
2. Working in teams during and outside of program sessions.
3. Submission of reports - one mid year and one final year report to sponsors.4. Development of a community project including a project charter and poster presentation
Participants will require support from family and employers to attend program sessions and additional team work activities.
We ask that all applicants discuss the time commitment with their family and employer prior to applying to ensure they have the appropriate support in place, enabling their full participation in the program if accepted.

Participation Expectations:
Successful applicants will be required to commit themselves to full participation in the program, which includes:
- Making the best possible effort to attend all program days, retreats and sessions. A full calendar will be provided prior to accepting participation offers.
- Completing the required program day evaluations.
- If participating with scholarship support, undertaking regular meetings, reports and interactions with the scholarship provider.
- Completing and reporting back to LEAD Loddon Murray on a community project (one that is achievable and of benefit to the community).
Costs:
The majority of positions are covered by a sponsorship arranged by LEAD Loddon Murray. Our sponsors include local governments and other organisations. Most sponsors seek a participant with values aligned with their purpose, goals and operations.
- All Scholarship and Employer Sponsored Participants (except LEAD Board Supported) must pay a personal participation fee of $750 (excl GST).
- Self Funded Participants $5,500 (excl GST) (participation subject to LEAD Loddon Murray Board approval).
- Employer / Corporate Sponsored Participants, Employer Fee $11,000 (excl GST).
In the interview we will discuss whether you are eligible to apply for scholarship support into the program.
The program has a proud history of accessibility and inclusion. Payment plans are accepted and can be tailored to suit individual circumstances.
Ensure you complete all the questions; it is estimated this application will take up to 20 minutes to complete. If applications are not completed in full, they will not be considered in the selection process and you will not be eligible for an interview.
The process for 2025 recruitment is as follows:
1. Complete this expression of interest.
2. Should you be selected for interview, the LEAD Loddon Murray team will contact you to organise a suitable time.
3. Candidate recommendations will be finalised by late January.
4. Official offers will go to candidates by early February.
